LAST POST FOR A FEW MONTHS!

Hello my friends! Some of you were so sweet 🥰 and worried about me in my recent 2 week absence (when my tablet froze and I had no time to fix it), so I wanted to make sure to drop a message here....We are in the middle of 2 moves (from a house that we renovated and from a temporary apartmennt to a new rental home in another city), so it's time to pack up my craft room! It's always very sad when I have to pack up an art space, but, after a year of having 2/3 of my supplies in storage, I will finally have everything in one place, once I get set up on the other side. I'm super excited about that!!

I've already sent out cards for close friends with birthdays in March, April, and May...sorry, it will be a bit early...but that's better than too late, right?!

I felt like I had to find some cards to post with this message. Unfortunately, the only cards that I hadn't already posted use that same embossing folder technique that I've been obessessed with lately! These are a couple of really quick cards that I made using a rainbow wash scrap that I had previously embossed with a mandala 3D folder. That folder was waaaaay too detailed to get a clear image with watercolor paper (it's too thick to bend to such tiny detailed shapes), so I tried to flatten it out by running it through my diecutting machine before re-embossing with a couple of floral folders. That's why there appears to be texture and gilding in odd places on the petals! 🤣 The first card was created using Daffodil Delight and the second used the same Enchanted Rose that I had used on my last post. Both 3D folders are from #altenew3dembossingfolders .

Please wish me luck in my moves! I'll try to drop in to support y'all from time to time, but I won't be posting anything for a while. Sending squishy hugs to everyone!

I am copying @hartwildcards 's efforts to use up old scraps, but not as creatively 😜! For this quick card, I used a piece of patterned paper (it's from one of those alcohol ink patterns) and some left over sentiments to create an anniversary card for a pastel-lavender-loving friend. I've known her since I graduated from college (31 years ago!!), and everything I've ever given her is lavender! 😂😂😂! 💜💜💜

The embossing folder that I used is Garden Rose from Altenew. The die cut part of the sentiment is from Pinkfresh, and the foiled parts are from Spellbinders. I used Versafine Smoky Grey (on the folder) and a dark gray colored pencil & gamsol to create the shadows. Fun fact....when I used the gamsol to bend out the colored pencil shadows, the gamsol darkened the PP, saving me the effort to blend with a pink or purple pencil. Even after it dried! If you look closely, you can see the darker pinks and purples in the shading. I didn't do that! I'm going to have to try that again in the future and see if it's an all patterned paper thing or just on this particular one thing!!

HAPPY MAIL ALERT!!

Happy Monday, my friends!

I wanted to share some fabulous cards that I got from a few ridiculously talented crafty friends!

Thanks so much, ladies!! These were super inspiring & really brought gladness to my heart during a super busy couple of weeks when I had no access to IG (my tablet froze & I had zero time to fix it).

The first is a beauty from @sandimaciver . After she made a video of that embossing folder technique that I love, I asked her for one of the cards & she was sweet enough to send me one. I'll treasure it as a momento of our collab.

The second is a just because card from my long-time friend, @hartwildcards . It's gorgeous & totally brightened my day too!

The third was my first card from @2.b.mindful . Her warmly written message was really touching and the card is super cute!

The last card, the watercolored poppies in sunshine tones, is from @crncards . I'm always mesmerized by her original painted pieces (not using stamps or dies). I feel super fortunate to own a couple!

I did manage to make a few projects of my own these last few weeks. I'll share in a couple of days when I've had a chance to take pictures of them! Big hugs to everyone!!
